The story of Inviting Ways
The Hobby That Got "Out of Hand"
Inviting Ways (originally named Calligraphy Corner for it's first 23 years) was started by Micki Lobanoff. It began as a calligraphy hobby in the corner of her kitchen. She began by designing a unique birth announcement for a friend and it wasn't long before she was getting calls for other types of orders. In 1988, Micki and her husband David decided that her "hobby" had outgrown the confines of their Walnut Creek home and opened up their store in Downtown Walnut Creek. By this time, David had left his job in the banking industry to combine efforts with Micki and build the successful family business that has been a staple of downtown Walnut Creek for many years.
New name...same legendary service!
In 2006, the gang at "Calligraphy Corner" decided a name change was in order. With the current focus on invitations, announcements and other personalized stationary, the decision was made to call the business Inviting Ways.
Home is where the heart is....
After 22 years in downtown Walnut Creek, Micki and David decided it was time to bring the business full circle and back into their home. In late 2010, Inviting Ways closed it's downtown location and began offering their invitation design, printing and consulting services out of their home as well as through their online invitation store.
